Subject: SAL Gardening Camp Still has Openings!

Families of summer gardening day campers and others!

REMINDER: The SAL gardening day camps that begin June 6 and run through the week of Friday July 1 still have openings. Please consider enrolling your 7 to 14 year olds in one week of camp!

Sliding scale scholarships and possible help with transportation in some cases is possible.

The $100 per week per child cost covers snacks, lunch and swimming pool fees as well as the staffing of the camp.

Contact Camp Coordinator and SAL Director Stephen Bartlett to register your child.

Sustainable Agriculture of Louisville invites you to The Wine Rack for a wine tasting of local wines Friday, June 3, 2011 at 7:30 PM. (2716 Frankfort Avenue, tel: 721 9148) Guests Mary Berry-Smith (daughter of Wendell Berry) will talk about local farming and her husband Chuck will present 3 of their wines.

John Johnson, owner of The Wine Rack, will present three other local wines.

This event at $20 (cash or check payable to SAL at the door) will support the programs of Sustainable Agriculture of Louisville:

Gardening Camps for Children ( four-one week camps in it's 9th year) behind Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church immersing 50+ children in gardening, food preparation and cooking and March to October Aspiring Farmer Training Program ( second year in session now ). SAL trains about 10 aspiring farmers per year and; assisting refugee families to access land and training faith communities and SAL volunteers in community gardening.
